AUBURN | Richard Jibunor had attended several games inside Jordan-Hare Stadium over the past two years, but none of them were quite like the one he witnessed Saturday.

And it wasn’t even close.

Jibunor was one of dozens of top recruits in Auburn to watch as the Tigers dominated No. 1 Georgia, 40-17.

“It was the best game I’ve ever watched Auburn play in my life,” Jibunor said. “It was the best game I’ve ever witnessed. It was a lot of fun to watch.”

Jibunor took extra joy in watching the Tigers beat the Bulldogs. The four-star athlete is from Athens, Ga., a star at Athens Christian, and was warned by Bulldogs fans last week that a beatdown of Auburn was coming.

“I heard from people that ‘Auburn is this, that’ and they make fun of me because they are Georgia fans and they know Auburn is one of my favorite schools,” Jibunor said. “They said that they were going to kick Auburn’s … whatever.”

Jibunor plans to get redemption when he returns home to Athens, albeit non-verbal. Jibunor will let his apparel do the talking for him.

“I have my Auburn t-shirt on and I’m going to wear it to school,” Jibunor said. “I don’t need to wash it. I’ve been hugging almost all the Auburn players and I want to go to school with it like this so they can feel it.”

Jibunor plans to return to Auburn in two weeks when the Tigers host Alabama.

“I’m thinking of making it an official visit,” he said.

Auburn, Florida and Tennessee remain Jibunor’s top three schools. He’s planning to make a commitment before the end of November and sign a National Letter of Intent on Dec. 20. Auburn appears to be the team to beat.

Jibunor wasn’t the only recruit impressed with Auburn and the game day atmosphere on Saturday.

Here is what other recruits had to say about the Tigers’ big win.

“I love it! It was impressive. I expected a closer game, but we came out and did what we are supposed to do and played Auburn football. I’m going to rub it in everybody’s faces when I see them (back home) and say ‘War Eagle!’”

“It was a good game, a good game to see how Auburn really is. I was very impressed with Auburn’s offensive line. They held up for (Jarrett) Stidham and that was great to see. I wanted Auburn to come out with the win. Georgia had the big head about being No. 1.”

“Everything clicked for Auburn. I didn’t expect it to be a blowout. I expected it to be a close game, but it wasn’t. Auburn impressed me.”

“That was impressive. Auburn, it wasn’t luck or anything, they just straight beat them. All I heard all week is that Auburn wasn’t going to beat Georgia, but we beat them handily. There is nothing (Georgia fans) can say to me now.”

“I knew we had to stop the run game and that’s what we did. Auburn played a great game.”

“I loved what I saw. It was a good experience. I liked the way (Auburn) played. I was surprised with how many points Auburn put up and how easy they dominated the No. 1 team. The defensive line dominated (Georgia's) running game.”

“That was surprising. I didn’t expect Auburn to do that to Georgia. I loved how hard they played. The d-line did good. The backfield did good. They just beat Georgia in every aspect. I’m kind of surprised because Georgia was No. 1 and Auburn was No. 10 and everybody expected Georgia to win.”

“It was a great game. Auburn really dominated Georgia. I felt like Auburn would come in prepared and they did.”

“I was impressed. Auburn played really well.”

“The defense stood strong and Auburn came out with the victory. The defensive line, the whole defense was impressive.”

“I really liked it. That’s a big game for Auburn. The energy was lit. It put a good feeling in me about Auburn.”

“I loved it. It was a great atmosphere and a great game. People doubted Auburn, but they did what they had to do and won.”

“It was a great game. I was surprised by how well Auburn performed. They played explosive, like a well-oiled machine. It makes me happy to see them play so well and succeed.”

“It was great. The atmosphere was crazy and it was a really good game to watch.”

“It was great. That was the No. 1 team in the nation and (Auburn) just came out and killed them from beginning to end. Auburn came out hard and finished hard. The receivers did great. Jarrett (Stidham) did great. The play calling was good.”

“It was a good win for Auburn. The offense and defense were both working. The defense played a very good game. Overall, it was very impressive. They hadn’t beaten Georgia in a few years, so it was a good win for Auburn.”

“I was impressed that Auburn beat the No.1 team by that much. I liked the atmosphere. The student section was jumping.”

“It was awesome. The energy in the building was unreal. It was exciting to watch.”

“War Eagle! War damn eagle! I picked Georgia, but I said Auburn would give them a run for their money, and they did. Auburn took their money as a matter of fact. This is the loudest stadium. The crowd was insane.”
