AUBURN, Ala. | Chuba Hubbard has been high on Auburn since early in his recruitment, but a visit to the Tigers’ campus on Tuesday changed that.

“It took it to another level,” Hubbard said. “It was amazing. Auburn has the full package. There’s nothing not to like about it. It was a great experience.”

Hubbard, a running back from Bev Facey in Sherwood Park, Alberta (Canada), was in Auburn with his track coach and three teammates, but spent the majority of his time with the Tigers’ football staff.

“I thought it was a great opportunity to visit and I’m glad I did,” Hubbard said. “It was my first visit to any school and it was unbelievable.”

Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton served as Hubbard’s host.

“Coach Horton showed me some presentations and took me around and showed me everything,” Hubbard said. “I talked to Coach (Gus) Malzahn for a while and also Coach (Rhett) Lashlee. I really liked how the coaches took me through the history of the running backs at Auburn and showed me more in-depth about the academic side.”

Hubbard, who is 6-foot-1 and weighs 195 pounds, would like his mother to experience it.

“It was unbelievable,” Hubbard said. “It was an amazing experience. I definitely want to come back. I know my mom would love to see it for herself.

“Auburn is a school that I have always liked a lot. I really don’t have a list, but Auburn already was way up there, one of the top schools I was thinking of going to, and now they are on another level.”
