Kerryon Johnson may have been the state of Alabama's "Mr. Football" for 2014, but he wasn't expected to make much of an impact last fall.

Yet the all-purpose back from Madison (Ala.) Academy emerged as perhaps the single most intriguing player on offense last season. Johnson seemed, at times, to be the only guy playing with fire during the mauling at LSU. Coaches took notice of that valorous spirit and continued to use him despite a plethora of other, more experienced options.

His freshman season was a dandy.
