Since 2000, Auburn has had three or more players selected in 10 of the last 12 NFL Drafts.
Newton was as the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers, becoming the fifth overall No. 1 pick in school history and the first Auburn player to be selected No. 1 in the draft since Aundray Bruce in 1988.
Newton is the first individual since 1949 to lead his team to the national championship, win the Heisman Trophy and be the first selection of the NFL Draft in the same academic year.
With Fairley being by the Detroit Lions in the first round marked the first time since 2005 that two Tigers were drafted in the first round.
