With the SEC regular season title clinched along with a likely No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament plus No. 1 Auburn suffering some injuries and wear-and-tear on the Tigers' bodies, it would make sense that Bruce Pearl might rest some of his players in Tuesday night's game against Texas A&M.

No chance, the Auburn coach said.

"Absolutely not," Pearl said. "Great question, but absolutely not. We have got a lot to play for. We're trying to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The possibility of being undefeated on the road this year is incredible."

The Tigers have survived a gauntlet of an SEC road schedule so far this season, winning at Alabama, Ole Miss, and Kentucky while those teams were ranked, along with quality victories at Vanderbilt and Texas. They have avoided the dreaded "L" word: letdown.

"Every team has letdowns, right?" Pearl said. "Not this team. And they're to be commended for that. It's a combination of respecting your opponent and a real desire to make history."

Surviving a road trip against the No. 22 Aggies would be difficult even with a fully healthy squad, but an injury to starting point guard Denver Jones could keep him out of the game in College Station. Chad Baker-Mazara suffered from an illness last week, while Johni Broome seemed to aggravate his shoulder but returned against Kentucky.

Again, there's no stopping Pearl from going full speed against Buzz Williams' squad on Tuesday night.

"Just no," he said. "There's a lot to play for."
