Auburn hosted the son of former NFL and University of Louisville quarterback Browning Nagle last Saturday.
B.J. Nagle, a 2014 quarterback prospect from Briarcrest Christian (Memphis, Tenn.), visited Auburn to watch the Tigers defeat ULM 31-28. It was his first visit to Auburn.
"I was really impressed with the fanbase, I loved the campus. We toured everything with my family, it's a pretty campus. The stadium is great and really big. It's a great atmosphere there," Nagle said.
"I think the pride in the program stood out to me. The way everyone helped each other, it showed in what they do. It's great seeing pride like that"
Nagle stands 6-foot-3, 220-pounds, and is currently receiving interest from Alabama, Louisville, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Arkansas, LSU and Auburn.
As a sophomore, Nagle threw for around 1,500 yards. This season, Nagle has led his team to a 5-0 record, including a comeback win last Friday night against St. Benedict's and Auburn running back commit Jordan Wilkins.
For B.J., having a father with college and professional playing experience is a tremendous help. Browning was MVP in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl against Alabama, throwing for 451 yards. Nagle was drafted by the New York Jets with the 34th overall pick in the 1991 NFL Draft.
"He's been in my shoes, he gives me advice, he's always there when I need him. He doesn't put pressure on me, it's good to have that every day around me," B.J. said. "In the offseason, we thrown and work on mechanics, but during the season it's mostly mental. We'll go over film and stuff like that."
This fall, B.J. plans to visit more schools, and into the offseason he plans to attend camps and ramp up the efforts to earn scholarship offers. B.J. said he "definitely" plans to return to Auburn to learn more about the program.
