Goodwin was one of the top athletes in the nation last season, and was widely regarded as one of the faster players in the state of Georgia, and the country. Goodwin committed to Auburn in December of 2009, and while there were conflicting reports on him wavering, Goodwin stood strong and was one of Auburn's first official signees on Signing Day.
High School Stats: Named to the All-Southeast Region team by PrepStar, and was a participant in the 2010 Under Armour All-American game. Had over 800 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a senior.
What's your workout routine?
I've been running a lot and lifting weights. I've been going by the Auburn workout plan.
Is there a weight you want to be when you report?
I really don't know, I'm just trying to get in the best shape I can right now. Last time I ran a forty, I ran a 4.25.
Which coaches were mainly involved in your recruitment to Auburn?
Coach Trooper Taylor and coach Tracy Rocker. I liked the personality of coach Troop, it was sometimes serious, but it was like a family bond. I feel like if I came to him, he would care about me as a person and a player, the same with coach Rocker.
Looking back at the '10 class, was there a signee that you were surprised to see on the list come Signing Day?
Not really, I guess Michael Dyer. We played in the Under Armour All-American game together, he's a cool person.
What was the Under Armour All-American game like playing with a number of future Auburn signees?
It was cool. We already had that bond, and when we get on that Auburn campus, we knew we were going to have that bond. It was great.
What do you think the '10 signing class is capable of accomplishing at Auburn?
A national championship, that's what we're going to get accomplished.
Of your fellow '10 signees, who do you think can make an instant impact on the offensive/defensive side of the ball?
I guess Mike Dyer. They expect a lot out of him.
If you hadn't signed with Auburn, who would you have signed with?
Probably West Virginia. They had a coach like coach Troop, real cool and family like.
There was a time when reports said you were decommitting from Auburn and that Georgia was making a push for you, were you always solid to Auburn?
No, there was never a time that I was not committed. They took the wrong thing I said about coming to see the campus, and they automatically took it as I was decommitted. When they said that, it made me not want to take a visit there. From the time I committed, I had my mind made up the whole time.
What team(s) are you looking forward to playing and beating at Auburn?
Georgia, I'm really looking forward to beating Georgia. I'm looking forward to playing some old teammates. I'm looking forward to that.
What's one thing you would want a future recruit to know about Auburn they may not already know?
They are serious about football, and they are going to look out for you. Anytime you need them, they will be there for you.
Are you qualified, and when do you plan to report?
Yes, I'm coming down this Friday.
If you had a message to Auburn fans, what would it be?
I'm looking forward to playing and giving 100 percent effort, and I'm ready to play.
