AUBURN, Ala. | There were a number of standouts at Auburn's senior camp Thursday including a quartet of prospects that could be close to an offer.
Kevin Stepherson, a Notre Dame commit, was probably the top wide receiver working out. He received a lot of 1-on-1 attention from wide receiver coach Dameyune Craig.
Marcelino Ball and Javelin Guidry were two of the top cornerbacks, receiving a lot of 1-on-1 attention from secondary coach Travaris Robinson.
One of the most impressive performances came from ninth grader Clay Webb, who will be a varsity starter at Oxford (Ala.) High for the first time this fall. He worked at every offensive line position during the camp, excelling in 1-on-1 drills.
Here's what they had to say...
Jacksonville, Fla. (First Coast)
On the camp…
"I loved the camp and everything about the coaching staff. Great school. I love the facilities, love everything about it."
On working with Craig…
"It was great. He's a very smart guy. I know he knows a lot and I like to learn from him."
On his commitment to Notre Dame…
"I'm committed right now. Just kind of hanging out. I'll probably take an official to Auburn, definitely."
Roswell, Ga. (Roswell)
On the camp…
"It went pretty well. I never felt tired and dominated in every skill. I gave it everything I had and wanted to show that I can play in the SEC/ACC."
On Auburn's interest…
"They are recruiting me as a safety. I talked to the head coach and defensive coordinator. (Gus Malzahn) said he wanted to wait and see before they offer. He wanted to take some more time before extending one."
2017 CB Javelin Guidry
Cedar Park, Tex. (Cedar Park)
On the camp…
"The camp went well. I learned a lot of good techniques I can bring back to Cedar Park, a lot of good stuff. Auburn is really nice, brand new facilities."
On running a 4.34…
"I wanted to run in the 4.2's but I'll take it."
On spending time with Robinson and Will Muschamp
"They told me I had a great camp and they'll look over my film. (Robinson) is a great coach. He goes into detail with everything he does."
On recruiting…
"My main goal is to get a D-I scholarship and go into the league. I want it bad. As bad as I want to breath."
2019 OL Clay Webb
Oxford, Ala. (Oxford)
On the camp…
"It was real fun coming down here getting to learn and work with different type coaches and the different things they did."
On working with OL coach J.B. Grimes
"It was awesome. He's a real good coach. He said if I stuck with it I might be a really good center."
On meeting with Coach Malzahn…
"It was amazing. He said keep my grades up and keep working hard."
