Here is what six of the commitments had to say about their visits and time spent in Auburn.

Player host?

“Malcolm Askew. He was a redshirt last year, so being able to build a relationship with him and the other freshmen was great. I’ll know them already.”

Recovery from shoulder surgery?

“It’s coming along great. My therapy and stuff is going real good. I’ll be good to go by the time fall practice comes.”

You expect to sign with Auburn in February?

“Oh yeah.”

What did the coaches tell you?

“They told me to keep my head up and everything will work out. They want me to start at safety.”

Did you meet with coach Marcus Woodson?

“I did. He’s a great guy. He and coach (Greg) Brown both are. They are religious people and trustworthy. They know what they are talking about."

The visit?

“It was a great visit, especially being able to meet up with all the commits and getting to know everyone.”

When did you know Auburn would be your choice?

“Iron Bowl weekend. I knew then.”

Your role in offense?

“They see me how they use Eli Stove and Ryan Davis, at that position. And how Ricardo (Louis) was used when he was here.”

You and Shaun Shivers could be two of the fastest players in college football.

“We've talked about it a lot and it's just not going to be fair.”

Will you take other visits?

“As of right now, no. I’m 100 percent (Auburn).”

What is your plan for track and football practice?

“I’m going to do full-time track while it's track season.”

AU’s wide receiver class?

“We can't wait. We know it's going to be a good class and for the next three or four years to expect a lot of points on the board.”

Auburn?

“I feel like it's a great university with great athletics and great academics. It's just going to be a good school for me even after I graduate.”

The visit?

“It was good like it always is all the time. My player host was Marquis McClain. We hung out with Eli Stove, (Darius) Slayton, Daniel (Thomas) and Jalen (Harris).”

When do you report?

“The first week of June. I’ll most likely room with Anthony Schwartz.”

Personal track records?

“My personal best in the 200 is 20.91 and 100 is 10.4.”

You and Schwartz compete in track?

“We race against each other every week, all the time. I have beaten him a couple of times.”

You and him on the same team in college?

“I can’t wait. Nobody is going to be able to stop us. With me and him on the field at the same time, that’s too much speed.”

You will run track at Auburn?

“Yes. Me and Schwartz both will run track here. I’ll most likely run the 200 in college because I’m better in the 200 than the 100.”

Auburn visit?

“It was good. I don't know how to explain it.”

Player host?

“Derrick Brown.”

Other visits?

“I’m taking all my visits. Oregon next week (Jan. 19-21) and Tennessee (Jan. 26-28) and Florida (Feb. 2-4).”

Auburn commitment?

“It's still the same. I still feel the same way. I feel good about Auburn. I'm still committed so they know the way I feel.”

Auburn visit?

“It was fun getting to hang out with the players and talking, getting a connection with the players and coaches. I hung out with Asa (Martin) and Jordan (Peters) a lot. I talked to Jalil some, too, but he was working on Dylan (Wonnum).”

Auburn's 2018 class?

“I’m really liking it so far. We picked up Harold (Joiner) and I think we have a couple of more coming.”

Report to Auburn?

“After I graduate in May.”

What position?

"I'll play guard."

The visit?

“I spent time with Marquel (Harrell), Slayton and Mike (Harris). We went downtown and then stayed in the dorms. It was fun, real chilled.”

Dylan Wonnum?

“He likes it here. He’s taking officials to Tennessee and South Carolina, but I think we are in the running. He likes it here a lot. We’ll see how that goes.”

When do you report to Auburn?

“I think it’s May 27, the day after I graduate.”

Position at Auburn?

“I’ll start at center. It will be an open competition. I played center a little in high school, so it won’t be a big adjustment.”
