QB commit makes trip to AU

Shiloh Christian four-star quarterback Kiehl Frazier didn't mind the 700-mile drive from his home in Springdale, Ark.
Neither did his father, Robin Beach.

The two made the trip to Auburn Thursday, a day before the majority of the Tigers' 11 official visitors were set to arrive.
Frazier, who is committed to Auburn, was on an unofficial visit.
"I went down there to have a good time, meet the guys and see if I could help steer anyone to Auburn," said Frazier, ranked the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback and No. 2 recruit from Arkansas. "It was really fun, a fun experience, to go down and hang out with the guys.
"I knew a lot of (the recruits that were visiting), but I didn't know a few of them like Christian (Westerman). I wanted to get down there and meet them."
Westerman, the No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 1 prospect from Arizona, is currently committed to Texas, but was in Auburn on an official visit.
"His dad and my dad talked a lot," said Frazier. "I think Christian and his dad had a really good time. Christian seemed like he had a really good time. Me and him became good friends. I think we are going to room together at the Under-Armour All-American Game (in St. Petersburg, Fla. Jan. 5)."
Westerman wasn't the only recruit on a visit that enjoyed himself.
"I think they all had a really good time," said Frazier. "I think we (Auburn) made a lot of leeway with most of them."
Frazier also spent time with four-star safety Erique Florence, four-star athlete Quan Bray and fellow Auburn commitment Sammie Coates, a receiver from Leroy, Ala.
"Sammie (Coates) is a real cool guy," said Frazier. "It's always fun talking to him. I have watched film on him and he gets everything that is close to him. I'm looking forward to making plays with him next year.
"Quan (Bray) and Erique (Florence), I got to know them better and built good relationships with them. We all had a good time. I really built relationships with a lot of guys."
Although Auburn did not receive a commitment from any of the visitors, Frazier thinks the Tigers will finish the 2011 class strong. Bray and Florence both left their visits with Auburn atop their list of favorites.
"I know there are a lot of guys leaning towards Auburn," Frazier said. "I think when we get closer to Signing Day, there will be a lot of guys committing."
Frazier plans to return to Auburn before the Feb. 2 signing day. He'll make the same 700-mile trip, but the next time will be an official visit. Frazier is scheduled to be back on the Plains Jan. 14-16.
"I always love going down there," he said. "I try to get down there as much as I can.
"I feel great about my commitment to Auburn. It's 100 percent that I'm going to be there in May. I want to go down there as much as possible before Signing Day and see if I can help get as many top recruits to Auburn as possible."
