The three-star power forward from Worth County in Sylvester, Ga., signed with the Tigers on Thursday as part of Pearl's second class at Auburn and one of the nation's top signing classes.
"Anfernee is a terrific student-athlete," Pearl said. "He has a 4.0 GPA, is a hard-worker, disciplined, tremendous athleticism and a really productive player. I think he is a guy who will be four years in the program, leave with his master's degree and will continue to get better every year."
McLemore, a 6-foot-7, and 210 pounds, averaged 19 points, 11.8 rebounds and 6.4 blocks per game as a junior. A two-time All-Area selection by the Albany Herald and a member of the newspaper's Super Six, McLemore has started for the Rams each of his four years in high school.
He scored a 1670 on his SAT and sports a 4.0 grade-point average in advanced classes. He also considered Yale, Brown, Oregon State, Stanford and Georgia Tech.
Auburn also signed Waterbury (Conn.) Sacred Heart five-star shooting guard Mustapha Heron and is expected to sign Pebblebrook (Ga.) four-star point guard Jared Harper Thursday evening.
Rivals.com currently ranks Auburn with the nation's No. 12 class and the SEC's No. 3 class. The Tigers are expected to sign one or two additional players in the spring period.
