Vigor (Prichard, Ala.) defensive tackle Darius Philon has reopened his recruitment, the three-star prospect told The Mobile Press-Register Monday.
Philon had been committed to Auburn since May 30.
"I shouldn't have committed early," Philon told the newspaper. "Basically, I was just rushing things and being hard-headed."

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Philon has seen his recruitment pick up since his commitment to the Tigers. He now claims offers from Kentucky, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Memphis, and is receiving heavy interest from Alabama.
"Basically, I just want to go somewhere where I feel like I'll be comfortable," he said, "where they'll help me better myself to get a chance at my goal (the NFL)."
Auburn now has 12 commitments in the 2012 class, only one of which is a defensive lineman, Gimel President.
