No buckling from Bentley

AUBURN, Ala. | Opelika quarterback Jake Bentley doesn't seem to be bothered much by pressure.
With Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, ESPN analyst Tom Luginbill and Bentley's father, Auburn offensive analyst Bobby Bentley, all peering over his shoulder, the 2017 four-star recruit made all the throws at the Tigers' half-day camp on Friday.
"I had a lot of fun," Jake Bentley said. "It was good to get out there and throw in front of them. It was a really good camp."
Bentley, who is ranked the No. 9 pro-style quarterback, worked a lot with Lashlee. Auburn's third-year coordinator also doubles as the quarterbacks coach and is the Tigers' lead recruiter on Bentley.
"Working with him was great," Bentley said. "Coach Lashlee is a young guy and can really be energetic with us, work with us and can still go through everything himself. He definitely knows what he's talking about, so it's good to be able to work with a coach like that."
Auburn already has offered Bentley, as have 11 other schools, including Miami, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Illinois. He will end his summer visits next weekend with a trip to Stanford.
Bentley, 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, doesn't list any early favorites, but plans to visit both Auburn and Florida State for games in the fall.
The Seminoles could be close to joining his offer list.
"They told me I'm one of their top guys," Bentley said. "Coach (Jimbo) Fisher sat me down in his office (after camp) and told me I'm one of their top guys and they would be recruiting me hard.
"He said after the first three games they should have a decision."
Bentley doesn't expect to have his decision made by October. He's still a season away from a commitment.
"I'd like to have it done before my senior season," Bentley said.
Several factors will weigh on Bentley's college choice, including where his father works. But in the end, he'll choose school over staff.
"It's more than just football for me," Bentley said. "Yeah, (my dad) might be a little factor in it, of course, but first is going to be about the school."
Rivals ranks Bentley the No. 160 overall player in 2017 and No. 7 from Alabama.
