AUBURN | It only took a half-day visit to Auburn for Drew Singleton to want to return.
The No. 2 outside linebacker recruit in the 2017 class made the trip from his hometown of Paramus, N.J. on Friday. It was his first visit to Auburn, but he hopes it won’t be his last.
“I definitely fell in love with the campus,” Singleton said. “I love everything about it.”
Singleton arrived in Auburn Friday afternoon and left late that night. He spent time meeting with the coaches, including linebackers coach Travis Williams and defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.
Singleton has developed strong relationships with the two first-year Auburn coaches.
“(Williams) is a really straightforward, transparent guy,” Singleton said. “He’s very passionate about what he does, and he’s really truthful. He doesn’t sell me any gimmicks or anything like that. He’s just straightforward.”
As is Steele.
“He’s a great coach,” Singleton said. “He’s really transparent as well. He gives it to me straight how it is. He just wants the best for me as a player even if I don’t come to the school.”
