No. 2 OG talks Auburn visit

AUBURN | Trey Hill thought Auburn’s 40-17 win over Georgia was the best game day atmosphere he’d experience.

Then he visited Auburn on Saturday for the Tigers’ 26-14 win over No. 1 Alabama.

“The Iron Bowl was a great game, even better than the Georgia game,” Hill said. “The atmosphere, the best of Alabama, basically that’s what it is. It was great.”

Hill, from Houston County (Ga.), was in Auburn on an official visit. It was his first official visit, but approximately the 15th time he’s visited Auburn. Hill experienced several firsts at Auburn, including going onto the field after the game.

“I rushed the field and it was great,” Hill said. “I had a fun time. Them playing good as a team is very important to me. To see them knock off two No. 1 teams, that’s great to see, especially for a recruit.”

Hill, who is ranked the No. 2 guard in the 2018 class, hung out with his player host, offensive lineman Brodarious Hamm, and met extensively with offensive line coach Herb Hand and coach Gus Malzahn.

The coaches emphasized to Hill how much a priority he is for them.

“It’s very important to know you are a top priority,” Hill said. “It’s a great feeling to have. I know I can come in here and compete for a starting position.”

Hill doesn’t list a favorite at this time, but he’ll soon make a decision on where he’ll attend college. Hill is a mid-year graduate and will sign scholarship papers on Dec. 20, the first day of the early signing period.

Hill said he would take official visits to Georgia and Clemson before making a decision.

“I definitely can envision myself being here and playing for Auburn,” Hill said. “Just the family vibe. I get that every time I come here.”
