Mammoth DT visits Auburn
AUBURN | Jalen Cunningham is straight up. His offer from Alabama is going to be tough to overcome.
But the 6-foot-5 and 360-pound defensive tackle is giving other schools a chance including Auburn. He visited the Tigers’ Junior Day Saturday and is already planning to return for a second practice in a few weeks.
“I loved it. The intensity and everything with the first full-pad practice, it was great,” Cunningham said.
Cunningham met with both head coach Gus Malzahn and defensive line coach Rodney Garner. Auburn hasn’t offered the standout from St. Clair County in Odenville, Ala., but is expressing high interest.
“They just told me how much they love me at the defensive line position,” Cunningham said.
In addition to the Tide, Cunningham lists offers from Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Memphis, Houston, Southern Miss, South Alabama and Tulane.
“I've got a lot to choose from right now. I like the options,” he said.
