The eighth member of Auburn's 2015 recruiting class has made it official.
Tim Irvin is a Tiger.
Irvin, a four-star safety from Westminster Christian in Palmetto Bay, Fla., has moved to Auburn and started classes for the spring semester, AuburnSports.com confirmed.
Irvin, 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds, flipped his commitment to Auburn on Sunday after visiting for "Big Boom Weekend." Irvin had previously been committed to Texas.
"I felt like (Auburn) was comfortable," Irvin said Sunday following his visit. "I felt like the coaches and players brought me in like I was their child. I just felt like I was at home."
Irvin joins seven other 2015 signees already enrolled and taking classes: offensive tackles Tyler Carr and Bailey Sharp, quarterbacks Tyler Queen and Jason Smith, running back Jovon Robinson, fullback Chandler Cox and defensive tackle Maurice Swain. All will go through spring practice.
Rivals.com ranks Irvin the No. 29 safety prospect in the country.
"He is a very athletic football player that has the will and desire to be great," Westminster Christian coach Sedrick Irvin said. "He's very talented and competitive, good instincts. He can come down and cover a slot receiver. He's a guy that's athletic and strong and tough and can blitz.
"He's just an overall great player."
