Joiner a 'high priority' for Auburn
AUBURN | Harold Joiner has been to Auburn many times. More than eight by his count.
And Saturday’s Junior Day was another good trip for the 2018 athlete from Mountain Brook (Ala.) High, who said he spent time with head coach Gus Malzahn, offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey and several other coaches.
“It was great,” Joiner said. “They were just saying I was a high priority.”
Joiner, who is 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds, lists his current top three as Auburn, Ole Miss and FAU. He has offers from all three plus Kentucky, Southern Miss, UAB, Troy and UCF.
Joiner, who plays running back in high school, thinks he’s a good match for Auburn’s offense.
“Auburn runs a similar offense and I just feel like I would fit good if I would to go here,” he said.
Malzahn asked Joiner what position he would prefer and he answered running back. But he’s also open to wide receiver.
“I’d be fine with that,” he said.
Joiner is in no hurry to make a decision.
“I’m probably going to wait senior year Signing Day,” he said.
