AUBURN | Richard Jibunor is an athlete, a player that can play and excel at several positions.

The junior from Athens (Ga.) Christian School proved it Friday at Auburn’s Rising Junior Camp.

Jibunor, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 220 pounds, worked at linebacker, defensive end and wide receiver and impressed enough at each to earn an offer.

“I used my speed (at linebacker) against the receivers and was real physical and the coaches liked that,” Jibunor said. “I had to cover some tight ends and receivers and did good. I then went to receiver and ran some routes, used my speed and did good.”

Jibunor worked at defensive end and was rarely stopped or even slowed.

“I beat my man every time,” Jibunor said. “I used my speed and got lots of reps and did good.”

Jibunor also had impressive results during testing.

“I ran a 4.4 40,” Jibunor said. “I did a 6’6” broad jump.”

His performance in 1-on-1s and results in the testing portion of the camp were enough to receive his third offer.

“The coaches saw all of that and were happy,” he said. “They offered me.”

Auburn joined Tennessee and Wake Forest as schools that have offered Jibunor, who originally is from Nigeria and is close friends with Auburn freshman Prince Tega Wanogho Jr.

“I liked it,” Jibunor said. “I’m really happy they offered.”

Jibunor plans to return to Auburn before the end of the summer and also in the fall.

“My big brother (Wanagho) goes here and he’s been telling me lots of good stuff,” Jibunor said.

Jibunor also is receiving interest from Florida State, Georgia, Miami and West Virginia, among others.
