Hoover wide receiver Shedrick Jackson visited Auburn on Saturday and met with the man he’d been wanting to meet.

“I got to meet with Coach (Chip) Lindsey,” Jackson said of Auburn’s first-year offensive coordinator. “We talked and hung out and it was great. I’d met him before, but never had a chance to talk 1-on-1. I was glad I got the chance to do that.”

Among the topics of conversation for Jackson and Lindsey was the wide receiver’s potential future at Auburn.

“We talked about what I would be doing in the offense,” Jackson said. “And what life would be like if I went there. He’s a good guy and seems to know what he’s doing. He’s bringing a lot of new stuff to Auburn’s offense, and I think he’ll do really good there.”

Jackson has the opportunity to play in Lindsey’s offense at Auburn. Jackson received an offer from the Tigers on April 13, which came a few hours after adding an offer from Georgia Tech.

“It was pretty exciting,” Jackson said. “I thought Auburn might offer, but I didn’t now when.”

Jackson has since added offers from Missouri, Illinois, Jacksonville State and Liberty. He already had offers from Mississippi State, Memphis and Troy, among others.

“Memphis, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Auburn are recruiting me the hardest,” Jackson said. “But I don’t have a favorite. I’ve been to most of the schools or talked a lot with their coaches, and I love all of them and am thankful for them.”

Although Jackson doesn’t list a top school, he feels confident he’ll be ready to announce a commitment soon.

“I’ll probably end up making a decision midway through the summer or towards the end of the summer,” Jackson said.

Before he does, he’ll return to Auburn at least one more time.

“I think I’ll be back at Auburn for their Big Cat event June 3,” Jackson said.
