Muscle Shoals (Ala.) defensive back Jordyn Peters is ready to announce his decision.

The three-star recruit will commit to either Auburn, Ole Miss or Virginia Tech later this week.

"I'm ready," Peters said. "I feel comfortable with my choice and will announce it Friday or Saturday."

Peters has reasons for the three schools being finalists. He visited each in the summer, including two trips to Auburn.

"With Auburn, I have a really good connection with Coach (Wesley) McGriff," Peters said. "It's also a family feel down there."

Ole Miss' advantage is Oxford's proximity to Peters' hometown of Muscle Shoals. Virginia Tech secured a spot on his list of finalists after Peters took a summer visit to Blacksburg.

"Ole Miss is the closest to home and I have a real good connection with Coach Barney (Farrar)," Peters said. "With Virginia Tech, I had a really good feeling when I went up there. I fit in better there than I thought I would. It seemed to me like an SEC school how they care for football."

Peters, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 185 pounds, also considered offers from Michigan, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Louisville, Minnesota and Memphis, among others, before narrowing his focus to his finalists.

Peters hopes to announce his decision before the start of his senior season. Muscle Shoals hosts Gardendale Friday night.

"If not Friday, it will be Saturday," Peters said.
