Ideal DL class includes 6, but AU more likely to sign 5
AUBURN | Rodney Garner’s ideal defensive line class in 2018 would consist of six defensive linemen.
The reality, however, is class numbers won’t allow it. Schools are limited to 25 signees per class and Auburn has needs to fill elsewhere.
“I’d love to get three inside (defensive linemen) and three outside (defensive linemen),” Garner told AuburnSports.com on Thursday. “That would be my wish list. Six would be awesome.”
Garner doesn’t expect to sign six; he’s planning instead to sign five. The group would include 2-3 tackles, a strongside end and 1-2 weakside ends/pass rushers.
