Harris talks Auburn visit, decision timeline

Kaleb Harris made his first game day visit to Auburn this year over the weekend.

Things between the safety out of Thompson and the Tigers have been heating up recently, enough so to warrant a visit. Auburn fell one possession short of upsetting No. 13 Ole Miss on the field, but it was a solid visit overall.

"It was a good environment," Harris said. "I think it was a lot of good plays, a couple mistakes they could have fixed. Things to work on."

One player in particular that he kept a close eye on was nickel Keionte Scott, who Harris views as the type of player he could be if he chose Auburn.

"I think I could fit like Keionte Scott plays, that nickel, I could fit in the box, I could blitz, I could cover," Harris said. "I think that would probably be my best play, playing at this level."

It's been an impressive senior season for Harris, who's taken a step up from last year for Thompson. He's already recorded a career high in tackles and tackles for loss through eight games for the Warriors.

When it comes to Auburn, Zac Etheridge is the one keeping in contact.

"He keeps it real with me, he tells me what it is and what it ain’t," Harris said.

Mississippi State has been his only other visit this season, but he's hearing from Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech often as well.

Does he have any idea when a decision could come?

"It might be soon," Harris said.
