Former LSU linebacker transfers to Auburn

It's an SEC switch up for DeMario Tolan.

Following one season in Baton Rouge playing for LSU, the rising sophomore linebacker announced his transfer to Auburn Sunday. The move comes just days after Tolan visited Auburn, which beat out Missouri and Colorado for the former 4-star recruit.

"[Auburn's] just a great fit for me," Tolan said.

While at LSU, Tolan made nine tackles in his freshman season. He recorded a tackle in six different games for the Tigers as a true freshman, with his career-high four tackles coming in a game against Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-2, 222-pound linebacker is the Tigers' sixth transfer into the program, joining tight end Rivaldo Fairweather, edge Elijah McAllister, defensive lineman Mosiah Nasili-Kite and offensive lineman Dillon Wade and Gunner Britton.

Tolan had visited Auburn several times during his high school recruitment before ultimately settling on LSU. Now, a season later, he's signed and ready to roll for the Auburn Tigers.
