AUBURN | Haley Fagan's Monday confrontation with Florida head coach Tim Walton won't affect her playing time moving forward.

Auburn coach Clint Myers said his senior shortstop will face no discipline related to the much-discussed incident.

"It was an unfortunate situation," Myers said Thursday. "I've had a chance to visit to visit with Tim Walton ... and it's been a learning experience for everybody involved. We're moving on."

Fagan's deep-seated disdain toward Walton stems from a 2012 incident at Florida, which led to Fagan's older sisters, Casey and Sami, being dismissed for reasons that never have been discussed publicly. Fagan has competed against Florida on four separate occasions during her Auburn career and always chooses to avoid slapping hands with Walton after the games.

Walton nonetheless seemed to expect a high-five from Fagan as the two teams queued up after Auburn's 1-0 victory Monday night. When Fagan's hand wasn't in the expected position, Walton seemed to pretend to slap her hand anyway and made gentle contact with Fagan's right shoulder.

Fagan quickly recoiled and gently pushed Walton from behind. The Florida coach whirled around and the two shared a brief, contentious exchange that was caught by ESPN cameras. Walton apologized on Tuesday for his role in the dust-up, saying "(I) did not intend to upset her."

Myers on Thursday said he's spoken with Fagan about the incident.

"Those conversations are between Haley and myself," Myers said. "We've moved on."

Auburn (28-5) begins a three-game series at Georgia beginning Friday night.
