Excited about AU

Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) Rivals150 power forward Horace Spencer is the only member of Auburn's 2015 recruiting class that hasn't already signed or enrolled.

That doesn't mean he's having doubts about his commitment. The nation's No. 61 overall prospect still feels very good about inking with Auburn in May's signing period.
"Of course I feel good, real good, about Auburn," Spencer said. "I'm actually really excited about going to Auburn."
Spencer, 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds, hasn't had much time to watch Auburn and first-year coach Bruce Pearl this season. What little he's seen and heard, however, has been encouraging to him and the future of the Tigers' program.
"I've been on the move so much that I haven't been able to sit down and watch an entire game," he said. "But I've been keeping up with them when I can.
"I've seen that they've won almost all of their home games (4-1). I saw they came back and beat Xavier. That was really good."
Spencer stays in contact with Auburn. Assistant and lead recruiter Tony Jones visited him Friday in Las Vegas. Jones watched as Spencer and Findlay Prep beat Faith Baptist Academy (Ga.).
"I appreciated him doing that, coming out to see me," Spencer said. "And I text with Bruce (Pearl) a lot, too."
Spencer plans to take an official visit to Auburn in the spring. He hopes the trip will get him more acquainted with his future home, teammates and coaches.
"I took an unofficial visit back in the summertime, but I want to take an official visit so I can get to know people even better," Spencer said. "I have to take my ACT first, which I think I take it sometime in February, and then I'll set up my visit.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back to Auburn and seeing everything and everyone again."
Spencer does not plan to take any other visits. He doesn't see the need to.
"I don't really want to visit anywhere else," he said. "I'm not really hearing from anyone else, either. I'm just really excited about going to Auburn."
Spencer is back at his home in William Tennent, Pa. where he will spend the holidays before returning to Nevada.
Findlay Prep is off to a 12-0 start to the season. Spencer, although playing only 18 minutes per game because of blowouts, is averaging 11.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
