AUBURN, Ala. | Writing was on the wall for Jeremiah Dinson after he left his official visit to Auburn.
On Sunday, the three-star cornerback left with the Tigers as his leader despite still being a Kentucky pledge. However, just minutes after heading home, Dinson confirmed to AuburnSports.com that he had de-committed from the Wildcats.
And on Monday night, after an in-home visit with the coaching staff, he officially gave his commitment to Auburn.
The 5-foot-11, 176-pound South Florida native has a long-standing relationship with Auburn cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson. The former Florida coach had been recruiting Dinson while he was with the Gators and extended an offer almost immediately after being hired.
This is Robinson's second commitment for Auburn since arriving earlier this month. He flipped four-star Tim Irvin from Texas last week.
"Auburn is a great fit for me," Dinson told AuburnSports.com on Sunday. "T-Rob is a Miami guy, I'm a Miami guy myself. Our connection is real close."
His official visit to Auburn was his first trip to the Plains, and Dinson immediately felt at home and was excited with everything the school had to offer.
"I fell in love with the players and coaches, especially with Coach Malzahn's house," he said. "That was one of the greatest experiences I've had."
Dinson is the 21st commitment for Auburn and is the first cornerback for the class. The Tigers plan to take at least one more at his position.
I'm proud and bless to say that I'm committed to Auburn University. Much love to my parents and coaches. #WDE πŸ˜€πŸ”ΆπŸ”·πŸ…πŸ… pic.twitter.com/bbUw9Qegk9- 3⃣ The Hard Way β„’ (@New_EraJD3) January 27, 2015
