"It went real good," Denson said. "I ended up getting an offer from Auburn. I was really excited about it."
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect showed exceptional strength and hands at the camp, earning an offer from the Tigers.
"I came out and did my thing, and got what I came here to get," Denson said. "The hard work definitely payed off. I'm still taking it all in. It was a good feeling at the end."
It was more than just the offer from the Tigers that has Denson interested in Auburn. The atmosphere seems to be exactly what the Birmingham-area player is looking for in a school.
"I like everything about Auburn," Denson said. "They are a family oriented team. They care about you. I come from a good family home, and I feel like Auburn would be the same thing."
This was Denson's third trip to the Plains this summer, having already visited for the spring A-Day game, as well as the first summer mini camp.
Denson admits to not growing up a fan of either in-state school, but now that he has an offer from Auburn, his allegiance may quickly be decided.
"I wasn't really an Alabama or Auburn fan," Denson said. "I just sat back and watched the game...now I'm an Auburn fan."
Denson said the Auburn coaches were impressed by a number of things, most importantly the way he competed on every play.
"They said they liked the way I compete, the way I got after it, and the way I fought for the ball."
With the Auburn offer, Denson's first official offer, a decision may be made very soon according to him. An unofficial visit to see the campus and everything Auburn has to offer may be all that stands in the way of a commitment to the Tigers.
"I'm supposed to come back up here Monday, see the campus, and maybe make a decision then" Denson said.
