Bishop commits to Auburn

Terrell (Dawson, Ga.) quarterback/athlete Tray Bishop committed to Auburn on Monday.

Tray Bishop has committed to Auburn.

The dual-threat quarterback from Terrell County High in Dawson, Ga., announced on Monday his intentions to sign with the Tigers.

"The relationships I have with the coaches, the atmosphere there and the vibe I feel there," Bishop said were reasons for him picking Auburn.

Bishop, who Rivals ranks the No. 33 athlete, chose Auburn after narrowing his long list of offers to the Tigers, Florida and Georgia.

Auburn offering Bishop the opportunity to continue playing quarterback also played a big part in him choosing the Tigers.

"I could see myself getting playing time there my first year," Bishop said.

Bishop visited each of his three finalists last week, including a trip to Auburn on Saturday. Bishop and several members of his family attended the Tigers' War Damn BBQ event.

"My family really enjoyed it," Bishop said. "That really was the final piece."

Bishop is Auburn's 11th commitment in the 2017 class, but his recruitment isn't completely over.

"I'm still going to take my OVs (official visits)," Bishop said.

Bishop will return to both Georgia and Florida for official visits. He'll also return to Auburn for the Tigers' season opener against Clemson and again for an official visit.
