On Saturday's scrimmage…
"We did a lot of team work, install work. The scrimmage was just a half-scrimmage getting the young guys some reps and more work in."
On the difference between spring and the fall…
"It's easier to do it than just watch people do it. The fall has been much more productive for me. The coaches are making everyone work hard and we are competing, which makes everyone better. If someone was to go down, we have others that are capable of stepping in and doing the same thing."
The switch from safety to linebacker…
"I'm still working on it, making sure I do the things linebackers do and not have the safety tendencies. I just have to keep working at it."
Demetruce McNeal
"I came in with high hopes. The coaches told me to come in and do my best, don't worry about the plays, don't worry about nothing but making plays. They wanted me to fly around and make plays. That was the only thing on my agenda today. I wanted to have a great day, move up the depth chart and show the coaches what I can do as a freshman. I'm just trying to get on the field early."
"I had a pass break-up and a big hit….out of bounds, and a big tackle-for-loss on (Phillip) Pierre-Louis when he caught the bubble-route. I only got out there for two series, but I made the best of it. It was a young day, and we showed the coaches what we can do. Nobody wants to get redshirted so we just showed them what we can do."
