AUBURN | Auburn signed nine players from the state of Alabama in the 2017 class, including six of the top 15. No other school signed more top-15 players from the state, and that includes Alabama, which also signed six.
The Tigers are looking to build on their in-state momentum in the 2018 class, having already offered nearly two dozen players. Most of the top in-state targets visited for Auburn's Junior Day on Jan. 27. Others will be on the Tigers' campus March 4 for Junior Day No. 2.
Who are Auburn's top in-state targets in 2018? Here's a look at 23 of them.
WIDE RECEIVERS
The position is a high priority for Auburn in the 2018 class, and the Tigers have targeted several in-state players, including Justyn Ross, the No. 4 wide receiver in the country. Auburn also has offered four-star Seth Williams and Cordova's Kolbi Fuqua, and is showing strong interest in Minor's Delonte Evans and Hoover's Sheldrick Jackson.
OFFENSIVE LINE
The Tigers have offered two in-state linemen: Marcus "Tank" Jenkins and Brooks' Kameron Stutts.
RUNNING BACKS
Auburn has offered Austin's Asa Martin and Mountain Brook's Harold Joiner, and is showing strong interest in Beauregard's La'Damien Webb and Madison County's Tae Provens.
TIGHT ENDS
Auburn signed two tight ends in the 2017 class and likely will add at least one in 2018. Murphy's Anthony Lewis, Jr. is an in-state tight end the Tigers will be tracking.
LINEBACKERS
Auburn is recruiting several in-state linebackers, including Maplesville's Nate Watson and Madison County's Matthew Flint.
DEFENSIVE LINE
Auburn was one of the first to offer Jackson-Olin's Coynis Miller, who since has added several other Power 5 offers, including Alabama, Clemson and Georgia. The Tigers also have offered defensive end Andres Fox and defensive tackle Timajé Porter.
CORNERBACKS
Auburn extended an early offer to St. Paul's Jalyn Armour-Davis, who visited in January for the Tigers' first Junior Day. Armour-Davis is one of Auburn's top cornerback targets regardless of his home state.
SAFETIES
Auburn has offered Pleasant Grove athlete Myles Mason, who could project at several positions in college. The Tigers, however, like him at safety.
