AUBURN, Ala. | Nico Collins named Auburn his leader after attending the A-Day game in April. Three months later, the Tigers are still on top for the 2017 Rivals100 wide receiver from Clay-Chalkville in Pinson, Ala.
"They're still first," Collins said. "I really like this coaching staff and Auburn."
Collins, 6-foot-5 and 193 pounds, said LSU and Clemson round out his early top three although he's in no hurry to make a decision.
"I'm waiting on my senior year, Collins said. "I'm going to wait it out and see what my options are. I have another whole year."
Collins said he spent a lot of time with Auburn wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig during Monday's visit.
"It went pretty good today," Collins said. "I went and visited campus, spent time with the coaches. I just got done playing a game, NCAA with Coach Craig. He won in overtime.
"He was telling me how the offense goes and they're a fast-paced team and they're going to throw the ball a lot. I really like it here. It's a great place."
Collins, who is rated the No. 54 overall prospect in the 2017 class, has offers from Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Louisville and Southern Miss.
"I just got to keep working hard and stay humble," he said.
Collins said he plans to return to Auburn to watch a preseason practice in August.
