Auburn lands WR commit

Daquayvious Sorey will still be a Tiger, even at the next level.

The 3-star wide receiver out of Chipley, Fla., committed to Auburn Friday, picking the Tigers over Alabama, Florida and Miami.

Previously committed to Georgia for over a year, Sorey decommitted and reopened his recruitment in February. He's the eighth commitment in Auburn's 2023 class and the second out of Florida.

Last season with Chipley, the 6-foot-1 receiver had 30 receptions for 546 yards receiving, an average of 18.2 yards per catch. Six of his receptions were good for touchdowns.

Sorey also carried the ball several times for the Tigers, recording 187 yards rushing on 16 chances with two touchdowns. He also plays special teams and finished the season just shy of 200 return yards.

The Chipley standout also snagged four interceptions during his time on defense.

With his commitment to Auburn, he joins edge Wilky Denaud as the second player from Florida in the 2023 class. Sorey is also Auburn's second wide receiver commit, alongside Alabama-native Karmello English.

The other six members of Auburn's class are center Bradyn Joiner, safety Terrance Love, running back Jeremiah Cobb, edge Ashley Williams Jr. and cornerback JC Hart.
