Auburn among favorites for Georgia CB

AUBURN | Auburn is among the favorites for Jaycee Horn.

The cornerback from Alpharetta, Ga., visited Auburn on Saturday, and included the Tigers in his top seven on Wednesday.

“They are one of the schools recruiting me the hardest,” Horn said following his visit. “They sit in a pretty good spot.”

Horn’s top seven schools include Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio State, Wake Forest and Ole Miss.

Horn’s visit to Auburn was a big reason the Tigers made the cut. So is first-year defensive backs coach Greg Brown, who coached for the New Orleans Saints while Horn’s father, Joe Horn, was a wide receiver.

“(Brown’s) resume speaks for itself,” Jaycee Horn said. “He’s taught in the NFL and that’s the highest level, so I know I can learn from him. I got a chance to meet with him and he told me some stuff that I can do.”

Jaycee Horn noticed during the spring game that Auburn’s defensive backs are taking advantage of Brown’s knowledge of the position.

“I was impressed with the way Coach Brown coached up the DBs,” Horn said. “I paid attention to No. 6 (Carlton Davis). He is a pretty good DB. He’s kind of long, reminds me of myself.”

Horn also had the opportunity to tour Auburn’s campus and facilities. He plans to return in the summer for a second look.

“The campus is real nice,” Horn said. “The dorms are some of the best dorms I’ve seen. Relationships are a big thing so I want to see how we stay in contact with each other, but I think I’ll definitely be back for another visit.”

Horn, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 175 pounds, doesn’t have a timetable for a decision.

“It might be in the summer, during the summer, after the season,” Horn said. “Whenever I feel comfortable is when I'll make the decision."
