Auburn adds Frost to commitment list

Auburn has accepted a commitment from one of the top overall recruits in the country.
The Tigers added future five-star athlete Kris Frost to their 2011 commitment list. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Frost, from Butler High in Matthews, N.C., is Auburn's 18th commitment. He chose the Tigers after narrowing his choices to Auburn and Michigan.

"I am going to Auburn because I want to be a part of the Auburn family," said Frost. "I am going to Auburn because of what the coaches do there, how they make me feel, and I consider myself a part of the family.
"My family kept asking me what do I want to do with my college career, and I want to showcase my skills to the limit and win a lot of football games, and that's where Auburn fits in. I know for sure that Auburn is where I want to be, and Auburn is the school I want to attend."
Frost said his parents were very supportive of his decision.
"They supported me the whole time, and right before I selected Auburn, they told me if I wasn't 110-percent sure Auburn was the place I wanted to go, then let them know," said Frost. "That really helped me out a lot. It made me feel like they were in my corner, and it made my decision to go to Auburn even easier.
Frost's mother, Miriam, said she is glad the recruiting process is over. She is also comfortable with his decision to attend Auburn.
"We are so happy for Kris," she said. "We love it at Auburn and so does Kris."
Frost spoke to Tiger coach Gene Chizik Monday night.
"Everything worked out for the best,"Miriam Frost. "It always does."
Kris Frost is scheduled to be in Auburn this weekend on an official visit.
"He's going down there Friday and is really looking forward to it," said Miriam. "He loves it at Auburn. We have been there several times and have loved every trip."
Auburn coach Tommy Thigpen recruited Frost to Auburn. Thigpen, regarded as one of the nation's top recruiters, was a big part in Frost deciding to attend and play football at Auburn.
"Coach Thigpen is a great man," said Miriam. "The entire staff at Auburn is great. We feel very comfortable with Kris going there and being under their guidance."
Frost plans to sign with Auburn Feb. 2 and enroll on the Plains in the summer or fall.
"As long as Kris is happy, his father and I are happy," Miriam Frost said. "After talking to Kris, we know that he is 'all in' when it comes to Auburn."
