AUBURN | Grady (Atlanta, Ga.) four-star safety Marlon CharacterClick [rl]Here to view this Link. Jr. made a half-day visit to Auburn on Thursday.
Character, ranked the No. 12 safety, participated in the Tigers' Senior Mini-Camp where he worked with Auburn secondary coach Travaris Robinson.
"It went really well," Character said. "Working with Coach T-Rob, there were some great drills he put me through and things that he showed me that will help me out in the long run."
Character also met off the field with Robinson and head coach Gus Malzahn. He also took a quick tour of Auburn's campus.
"Talking to Coach Malzahn was great, and so was seeing the facilities, the locker room, everything was great," Character said. "Coach T-Rob has great energy and is a great person. I can tell he's a great coach and just very energetic. I would love to be coached by him."
Playing for Robinson at Auburn is now an option for Character. It wasn't before Thursday.
"Coach T-Rob was talking to me about playing early, that if I keep working hard and doing what I'm doing, he could see me coming in and playing as a freshman," Character said.
Character last visited Auburn in 2012 for camp. He hadn't returned since and didn't plan on visiting Thursday.
"But I'm glad I did," Character said. "Coming here today really helped Auburn. It made Auburn stand out to me.
"I'm really liking Auburn. They moved up a lot. They are up there, right around there with my top three (South Carolina, Ohio State and Virginia Tech)."
Character, who is six feet tall and weighs 175 pounds, plans to return to Auburn next week for the Tigers' passing camp. He also plans visits to South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Rivals.com ranks Character the country's No. 214 overall player and No. 18 from Georgia.
