AU Camp features commits

Nearly 70 prospects attended Auburn basketball coach Tony Barbee's Elite Camp Friday including Milton three-star forward Shaquille Johnson and Southwest Dekalb four-star guard Jordan Price.
Johnson and Price, both Auburn commitments from the state of Georgia, participated in the one-day camp that featured drills, scrimmage games and a guest speaker, former Auburn and NBA star Charles Barkley.

Barkley spoke to the large group at the beginning of the camp.
"It was cool seeing Barkley there and listening to what he had to say," said Johnson, 6-foot-5, 195 pounds. "He talked to the group and then I got to talk to him one-on-one. He told me to stay focused in school, don't worry about anything else, and to keep my head on straight. That was real cool talking to him."
Price, 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, said Barkley had his attention from the introduction.
"It is always good to listen to an NBA legend and soak in whatever he has to say," said Price. "And for it to be Charles Barkley, I tried to soak in everything. I really liked hearing what he had to say."
Following Barkley's speech, Johnson, Price and the others went through drills before teaming up for scrimmage games.
"Me and Shaq ended up on the same team and did pretty good," said Price. "We were just trying to get a feel for playing together because we are going to be playing together at Auburn."
And possibly rooming together.
"We've known each other since the eighth grade so we are good friends," said Johnson. "We are looking forward to going to Auburn together, and we've been talking about being roommates when we get there."
Neither have any doubts they will honor their commitment to Auburn.
"I'm staying with Auburn," said Johnson. "The camp just made me feel better about my decision. Every time I go to Auburn, I feel more and more at home.
"I have a great relationship with Coach (Milt) Wagner. I really like him. I really like Coach (Tony) Barbee. I like all of the coaches. I feel like they have the program on the right path and I want to be a part of it."
Price said he is trying to help recruit more top prospects to Auburn. He and Johnson both did Friday.
"At the camp, Shaq and I talked to a lot of guys," said Price. "There were a lot of prospects there that looked good. We were trying to recruit and make Auburn better.
"No question that I am solid with my decision. I feel good about Auburn."
Price and Johnson both are currently at The LeBron James Skills Academy in Akron, Ohio. The Academy claims to feature the top 80 high school players in the country.
"It's going good," Price said Wednesday from Ohio. "Shaq and I are on the same team called 'Syracuse'. We have just done a lot of drills so far, but (Thursday) morning we will practice with our team and then start playing games in the afternoon."
Rivals.com ranks Price the No. 11 shooting guard and No. 70 overall recruit in the 2012 class.
