LEXINGTON, Ky. | Yahoo Sports posted a graphic stating that Auburn's starting lineup has an average age of 23.2 years old, just shy of the Oklahoma City Thunder's 24.4.

While the stat is interesting, it's funny that in a time when experience matters so much in college basketball, the Tigers were called out for it.

Not that it matters to Pearl and his team. In fact, they think it has helped them deal with the target on their back and heading into Saturday's game at Rupp Arena against Kentucky, the Tigers have a perfect road record in conference play.

"I would probably just say we just have a lot of veteran players," Denver Jones, a fifth-year himself, said. "A lot of people that have played in a lot of hostile environments."

With the Tigers sitting on top of the rankings for seven straight weeks, each opponent gives them their best shot. A less experienced team might have fallen into the trap of these road games, but Jones sees a different side to this Auburn team.

"We've just got a lot of guys that like to shush the crowd, that take upon that challenge to be good at away games," the guard said. "That's how I feel like it, just our veteran players."

And, as Pearl points out, there are some older teams in the SEC alone when adding everyone on the roster.

"There are five or six teams in our league that are older than us, which is hard to believe because Chad Baker-Mazara is 28," Pearl said. "Just kidding."
