5-star reopens recruitment

The hits just keep coming for Auburn.

A day after associate head coach Chuck Person was arrested in a bribery scandal, five-star forward E.J. Montgomery has reopened his recruitment.

Montgomery, Auburn's lone commitment in the 2018 class, decommitted from Auburn on Wednesday, Rivals.com's Dan McDonald confirmed.

Montgomery, from Wheeler High in Marietta, Ga., is ranked the No. 28 overall player in the class. He is the younger brother of Auburn women's basketball player Brandy Montgomery.

E.J. Montgomery committed to Auburn almost a year ago. The five-star recruit chose the Tigers on Sept. 22, 2016, over offers from N.C. State, Florida State, Florida and Georgia Tech, among others.
