Auburn continues this week to extend scholarship offers to several of its top 2016 prospects.
Freedom (Woodbridge, Va.) four-star defensive tackle Kyree Campbell found out on Monday that he's one of them.
"My coach called me down to his office and he had just gotten off the phone with Coach (Will) Muschamp," Campbell said. "Coach Muschamp told him that I had an offer from Auburn."
It was news Campbell wanted to hear.
"I was very excited," he said. "That's one offer I had been waiting for. I was hoping it was going to happen because Lance Thompson was recruiting me from Alabama, and when he went to Auburn I was hoping I'd hear from him soon."
Campbell now plans to visit Auburn. He will be taking a very long look at the Tigers.
"Without a doubt, I will be looking hard at Auburn," Campbell said. "I've never been to Auburn, but I will most definitely make a trip there in the spring or summer."
Campbell, 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, doesn't have a list of favorites, but plans to narrow his long list of offers to 10. When he does, "Auburn will definitely be in there."
Rivals.com ranks Campbell the No. 10 overall recruit from Virginia.
