AUBURN | Christian Tutt is ready to announce his college choice.

The four-star cornerback will commit to either Auburn or Ohio State during a ceremony at Thomson (Ga.) High on Tuesday.

“I’m wrapping up my recruitment,” Tutt said.

Tutt, who is ranked the No. 33 cornerback in the 2018 class, will announce his decision two days after visiting Auburn. Tutt was one of three official visitors in Auburn this weekend and one of dozens of recruits in attendance Saturday for the Tigers’ 40-17 win over No. 1 Georgia.

“(Auburn) showed me everything I needed to see,” Tutt said. “I saw a lot out of Auburn. I saw the way they played, the way they finished. I got to see their preparation, their schemes, how they run the defense, all of that.”

Tutt was joined on the visit by his two brothers, uncle and father. The group arrived Friday and stayed until Sunday.

“This weekend meant a lot to me; it meant a lot to me and my family,” Tutt said.

Tutt spent a lot of time during the visit meeting with Auburn defensive backs coach Greg Brown. He also met with defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, linebackers coach Travis Williams and coach Gus Malzahn.

“Coach Brown is a great guy,” Tutt said. “He does an outstanding job with the DBs. He knows what he’s doing. He’s coached in the League, so he knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s also a great father figure and that’s what I need going to a school. And Coach Steele, this is my first time to meet him, and he is a great guy, too. He does a great job with the defense. And I have a great relationship with Coach T-Will.”

Auburn’s coaches showed Tutt the need for him in the future. The Tigers lose several defensive backs to graduation after the season.

“They’ve got a guy (Carlton Davis) trying to go to the (NFL), and then some guys that don’t really fit at corner, but are playing there out of need,” Tutt said. “They don’t have any corners in this class, so they’d need me to come in and get into the system. That was an eye-opener to me. That is important to me. I’m trying to get on the field early.”

Tutt also would get an opportunity to return punts at Auburn.

“That means a lot,” he said. “That’s what I like to do.”

Tutt will inform Auburn and Ohio State coaches of his decision on Monday. He took an official visit to Ohio State in September. He also visited USC and Nebraska, but neither of the two schools made the final cut before his announcement.

Tutt, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 180 pounds, will graduate in December.

Tutt's announcement ceremony is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET.
