Brandon Martin's commitment to Auburn lasted less than a week.

The wide receiver from Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Miss., reopened his recruitment Wednesday night stating his need to "focus on academics and football."

"After meeting with my family and coaches I am decommitting from Auburn," Martin released on his Twitter account.

Martin committed to Auburn last Friday, July 1. He is scheduled to graduate Gulf Coast in December and said Auburn remains an option for him to enroll in January.

"Auburn is on my list," Martin's tweet read.

Martin, originally from Monroe, La., had over 1,000 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior in high school and finished with 1,000 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior. He will have three years to play three after junior college.

Martin is the second recruit to de-commit from Auburn. Quarterback Lowell Narcisse reopened his recruitment last spring before subsequently committing to in-state LSU.
