Originally, the two teams were scheduled to play a three game series with the first game at the Georgia Dome in 2003, followed by a game at Tech's Grant Field in 2004, then a game at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2005.
Now, the 2003 game has been moved to Grant Field on the campus of Georgia Tech and the 2004 meeting has been cancelled. The 2005 game will be played as scheduled at Jordan-Hare.
Auburn will play Georgia Tech for the first time since the 1987 season with a Sept. 6, 2003 game at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Grant Field in Atlanta. The Tigers will host the Yellow Jackets at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2005.
Auburn has played Georgia Tech 90 times which is more than any other opponent except Georgia. The two teams played for the first time in Auburn’s first year of football, 1892, and met every year from 1905-1987. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 47-39-4 including a 20-10 win in the last meeting in 1987.
Other non-conference games for Auburn during the 2003 season include Southern Cal, Ball State and Louisiana-Monroe.
