Monday, a four-star safety from Carver-Atlanta, is acting as an extra recruiter for Auburn, and played the part Saturday at the Tigers’ Cookout.

“I have to help out,” Monday said. “I’m doing the best I can for Auburn. It’s family now and I have to help and protect the family.”

Monday spent time during the Cookout with two fellow four-stars from Georgia, Miller Grove outside linebacker Caleb Tannor and Tucker linebacker Michael Harris.

“I’ve known (Harris) for a long time,” Monday said. “We played against each other in rec ball, so we’ve always had a close relationship. It was my first time meeting Caleb, but he is a great kid and can play football.”

Harris named Auburn his leader on Sunday. Tannor will announce his decision between Auburn and Georgia on Monday.

“I think we have a real good chance with Caleb,” Monday said. “I think we showed him what he needed to see and I think he’ll make the right decision. He’d be a great addition for the Auburn Tigers.”

Monday isn’t sure which school Harris or Tannor will choose, but he is sure about the one he chose.

“Auburn is everything that I wanted,” Monday said. “They always showed love and never stopped talking to me. Auburn is a great place for me. Auburn is like another home for me.”

Rivals ranks Monday, who is 6-foot-3 and weighs 180 pounds, the No. 30 safety in the 2018 class and No. 28 overall player in Georgia.
