AUBURN | West Orange (Winter Garden, Fla.) dual-threat quarterback Woody Barrett hasn't visited Auburn in nearly two years.
He needs a refresher course on Auburn, and he'll take it this weekend.
Barrett, ranked the No. 16 dual-threat quarterback, plans to be in Auburn late Friday night and stay until Sunday.
"Me, a few of my teammates and a couple of my coaches are going for a spring practice," Barrett said.
Barrett will be joined by West Orange three-star receiver Eddie McDoom and offensive linemen Stone Forsythe and Terell Tolbert.
Barrett, 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, is the only one of the group with an offer from Auburn. Of course, Barrett also has offers from Alabama, Clemson, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin, among others.
"I want to go up there and look around, see everything, and hang out with some friends of mine like (Auburn receiver) Tony Stevens," Barrett said. "I have talked to Coach (Rhett) Lashlee and Coach (Scott) Fountain a lot. When we talk it's like we've known each other for a long time.
"But this weekend, I would like to sit down with them and the rest of the coaches and get to know them even better."
Barrett already has the Tigers among his favorites.
"I don't have a top school right now," he said. "I'm wide open, but Auburn will probably be in my top five."
