AUBURN | Jackson-Olin linebacker Tadarian Moultry spent his one-month commitment anniversary on the campus he’s committed to attend.

Moultry, a new member of the Rivals100, was one of approximately 35 top recruits in Auburn Saturday for BIG CAT.

“I loved it,” Moultry said. “Being around the coaches and all the other recruits all day and just having fun was different than any other visit I’ve been on. We had a great time. It was a great family atmosphere.”

Moultry didn’t have to spend time touring the campus or facilities. The four-star recruit had seen it all several times before. Moultry’s visit to BIG CAT was more about relationships, specifically building on the ones already established with the Auburn coaches.

“I got to spend a lot of time with (area recruiting) Coach (Rodney) Garner and also with (linebackers) Coach T-Will (Travis Williams),” Moultry said. “I loved being around all of the coaches and their families. It felt good, felt like home.”

Moultry, who committed to Auburn on May 6, saw fellow in-state four-star recruit Malcolm Askew join the Tigers’ class at the conclusion of BIG CAT. Askew, an athlete/cornerback from McAdory, became Auburn’s fifth commitment when he announced to the group his intentions to sign with the Tigers. Junior college running back Octavius Matthews followed suit on Sunday with a commitment to Auburn.

“I feel great about our class,” Moultry said. “The guys that are committed are just like myself. We are family-oriented and we believe in the coaching staff.”

Moultry, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 220 pounds, remains confident he’ll sign with Auburn.

“I’m more solid now than ever,” Moultry said. “I don’t have any doubts I’ll be an Auburn Tiger.”

Moultry's teammate at Jackson-Olin, athlete/cornerback Mackell Pippen, also attended BIG CAT and later Auburn's camp.
