AUBURN, Ala. | Jackson-Olin linebacker Tadarian Moultry plans to make a commitment in the summer, and the four-star recruit from Birmingham is determined for it to be a well-researched decision.

Moultry, who is ranked the No. 16 outside linebacker in the 2017 class, already has visited several schools. He’ll visit several more before choosing one.

“I want to make the best decision for me,” Moultry said. “I want to see as many schools as I can and meet as many coaches as I can. I want to be real comfortable with my decision."

Moultry will visit Mississippi State on Saturday and travel to Georgia on April 17, Ole Miss on April 24 and LSU on April 30. He’ll have a traveling companion for the final three visits in April.

K.J. Britt, a top linebacker recruit from Oxford, will join Moultry on his visits to Georgia, Ole Miss and LSU. Britt is visiting Clemson on Saturday while Moultry travels to Starkville, Miss.

“We’re looking forward to taking those visits together,” Moultry said. “It’ll be a good chance for us to learn a lot and also have fun.”

Moultry’s visit to LSU at the end of the month is more important to him than it was earlier this week. He learned Wednesday during a conversation with LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda that the Tigers had offered.

“Coach Aranda said he really liked me and how I played and said I am No. 1 on their list,” Moultry said. “He said they were offering and that felt really good. I had hoped LSU would offer. I’m blessed to receive it just like I’m blessed to receive all the other offers. I’m just very thankful.”

LSU’s offer didn’t move the Tigers to No. 1 on Moultry’s list, but it did move them into his top group.

Moultry continues to list Auburn No. 1, followed by Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU and Mississippi State. He plans to visit Auburn again in May and is tentatively set to announce his commitment on or around Aug. 11.

“But I don’t know when it will be now,” Moultry said. “Whenever it feels right.”

Rivals ranks Moultry, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 220 pounds, the No. 12 overall player in Alabama
