AUBURN | Auburn has a commitment in its 2018 class from one wide receiver, but that number could grow soon. Very soon.
Kodi Burns certainly thinks so.
Burns, Auburn’s co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach, feels the Tigers could add at least one of its top targets to the class before the season begins Sept. 2.
“We are in a really good spot right now with the 2018 class,” Burns said. “There is going to be a couple more guys that will do something here pretty quick.”
The receiver most likely to join Hoover’s Shedrick Jackson on Auburn’s commitment list is four-star Matthew Hill. The standout from Brookwood in Snellville, Ga., plans to make his decision in August, although a specific date has yet to be announced. Auburn has been the presumed favorite for Hill since early in the summer. He grew up an Auburn fan, has taken several visits to Auburn and has developed a strong bond with Burns.
“I’m very comfortable at Auburn,” Hill said in June. “I grew up an Auburn fan so I’ve been comfortable with Auburn since I was a little kid.”
South Carolina and Alabama join Auburn in Hill’s top three.
