AUBURN | Jackson-Olin linebacker Tadarian Moultry has a leader.

After two visits to Auburn since Jan. 30, including one Saturday for Junior Day, Moultry has the Tigers at the top.

“Auburn is out front,” Moultry said. “I like everything about Auburn. I really like the coaches.”

Particularly new linebackers coach Travis Williams, whom Moultry spent a lot of time with on Saturday.

“I’ve gotten to know him well,” Moultry said. “He’s a young and energetic coach. He’s new, but he knows what he’s doing and what he’s doing is going to work.”

Moultry also met extensively with coach Gus Malzahn and new defensive coordinator Kevin Steele during the visit. Malzahn evened showed off his new toy, a BMW i8 Coupe.

“Coach Malzahn took me to the airport in his new car,” Moultry said. “That was one of the highlights for me.”

Moultry, who is 6-foot-3 and weighs 220 pounds, plans to return to Auburn in the spring. He will visit Alabama on Saturday. The Tide is No. 2 on Moultry’s list.

“Auburn is on top and then it’s Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Clemson and Georgia,” Moultry said.

Moultry doesn’t have a timetable for a decision. He’s not setting a date.

“I’ll do it when it feels right,” Moultry said. “I’m not sure when I’ll do it.”
