Saturday was Rueben Bain's first Auburn game, but it will likely not be his last.

Bain made the trip from Miami to catch a couple of Tiger teams in action, as Auburn hosted LSU to conclude its five-game home stand. Even though Auburn lost, it will not be a game Bain soon forgets.

"I’d say 10 out of 10 from beginning to end," Bain said. "From the eagle flight, to pregame, to Swag Surfin', fourth quarter — everything. I loved it."

Coming into the game, Bain had an expectation of what the experience could be like. By the conclusion of the visit, that expectation had been met, and then some.

"It surpassed it honestly," Bain said. "Everything was just amazing...I couldn’t keep a smile off my face all the way to the kickoff and really to the third quarter. Some stuff didn’t pan out that well, but I know it’s football at the end of the day."

Auburn lost the game 21-17, but the defense allowed just 14 points, held LSU to 270 yards total and forced nine punts.

What stuck out to the 6-foot-3 edge, however, was the defensive line and its aggressiveness. Auburn's defensive line recorded three sacks, eight tackles for loss and forced a fumble.

"Everybody played well across the board," Bain said. "It’s definitely aggression, the [defensive] ends, they really get let loose, that’s something that I really like."

Auburn is losing several defensive ends after this season, leaving the window open for Bain to come in and make an immediate impact. The chance for early playing time, combined with the atmosphere of Jordan-Hare Stadium, has put Auburn in his top three schools.

Miami and Auburn are two schools that are in his top three, but a third one is a bit more difficult to narrow down.

Bain plans to return to Auburn for either the Arkansas or Texas A&M game, but if he can't make those, will try to see Auburn on the road.

He will graduate and sign in December, enrolling early at whichever school he selects as home.
